Powered by Crytek’s CryENGINE 3, Crysis 3 puts players once again in the role of Prophet, two decades after the events of Crysis 2. Returning to New York, Prophet discovers that the city has been encased in a Nanodome, creating seven distinct and treacherous environments that must be traversed if the corrupt Cell Corporation is to be stopped.
New York’s remaining citizens have been removed by Cell, having being told that the giant citywide structures being erected were to protect the wider population and to cleanse the metropolis of the remaining extraterrestrial Ceph forces. In reality, the Nanodomes are Cell’s covert attempt at a land and technology grab in their quest for global domination. With Ceph lurking around every corner and Cell’s heavily armed forces on the prowl, Prophet’s mission is an uphill challenge.
Using the latest version of the CryEngine, Crysis 3 continues the franchise’s tradition of using cutting-edge tech and the latest DirectX 11 effects. The exact details are under lock and key at this time, but needless to say, if you’ve got a high-end system you won’t be disappointed.
